a way
I am not
coming
for now; the five thousand
steps are
too far
and your stones
are pushed down,
buried by sifting, thickened
drifts beyond
my bare foot's reach
another year maybe
clouds
will thin, expand
cast a light
rain along your bounds
so that even this blind
I might find
a way across
again, arrive
alone, alive
