PreK Flu And lo the teacher was laid low by new, exquisite germs. They came to school all set to grow with squeals and leaps and squirms. Fourteen in the morning, seventeen pm, I'm walloped without warning by PreK FluTM.
Is this new brew terrible? Nope-- it's beautifully bearable!
Ha, ha, you tricky poet. At first I thought you really did have the flu, but then I read and looked more carefully, and understood the "beautifully bearable". Marvelous poem, Heidi!
Glad you're feeling better! I love They came to school all set to grow with squeals and leaps and squirms. Have plenty of contagious fun with your young learners:>)
Heidi, you got me with this fun poem. Since I did not have on my glasses, I thought the images below were germs but they really are drawings from your squirmy, wonderful little ones. I love what you wrote and amazed at how you rallied from your illness.

ReplyDeleteActually I was really sick for about 24 hours (notably in the middle of last night), but again, it's worth it!
DeleteLeave it to you to come out of your first week with PreK with a clever, engaging poem! It's also such fun to see those young writers' work!
ReplyDeleteOh, Heidi! You even make the flu poetic. I'm sorry to be laughing....but encouraged by your comment that it was worth it. You're the best.
ReplyDelete"Beautifully bearable!" So happy you are enjoying your new position. I imagine they are exhausting, but adorable.
ReplyDeleteGood poem! I'm glad you have recovered from your "prekflu" and that you are enjoying the new school year.
