take it to your altar

This popped up before my eyes on a day when I hadn't realized I needed a prayer of some kind. Read it first with the fire in mind. Then read it again with metaphor in mind.

AHO . ASHÉ to the ASHES

Now maybe go scoop some ashes in a sacred manner, and then
maybe go vote, to remind Fire that it is full.

This came from @mujeresdemaiz via Instagram. I believe the words are by  @thehaginthewoods and @ink.by.vee

May you be safe, may you be loved, may you be remembered, now and always. Matt Forrest Esenwine has the round-up today at Radio, Rhythm & Rhyme.

  2. ohmygoodness....I wasn't prepared for the emotion of those words. Yes, scoop up what is sacred. Hold the sacredness. Mourn what is lost. Thank you, Heidi...a stunning share and a keeper for me.

  3. Oh, my, it is a prayer, a powerful prayer..."Remind Fire that is is Full." And scooping in a sacred manner, loving image. I've always had a problem with cremation and I know I need to get over it. I also see the parallel to water of a flood. "Remind water that it is full." And remind us all that we can make a difference.

  4. Because I am reading this today instead of yesterday, more powerful when thinking of loss & more loss this year. Thank you for this, Heidi. Best wishes to you & yours.

  5. I love this. It is been swirling in my head as we have dealt with the smoke.

  6. A beautiful call - invocation, perhaps - to honor life and to mourn loss of it. A sacred act, remembering. At its core, an act of love.

  7. There has been much mourning here this year and yet each day brings more news of sadness. I am reading this after hearing many of the Emmy winners reminding viewers to vote.
